Case study
Fire remedial works
In 2023 Hallam & Co. were engaged through a local social housing provider to undertake reinstatement works following a fire that had left the property uninhabitable.
Our remit was to return the property back to ‘pre-loss’ condition by firstly removing carbon deposits and then reinstating the damaged fixtures and fittings followed by redecoration.
The bathroom was completely ripped out and a brand-new suite and finishes installed.
All of the upstairs rooms required decorating and floor coverings were replaced. We also installed new UVPC windows, as well as internal doors, door furniture and radiators.
The works were bought to a timely conclusion to allow the householder to return home and avoid lengthy alternative accommodation arrangements.

Flood damage
Engaged by a loss adjusting firm, Hallam & Co. were asked to attend this industrial premises following a severe flooding incident where the flood waters exceeded one feet deep affecting warehouse and offices.
Our remit was to return the building back to ‘pre-loss’ condition in the shortest timescale whilst being sympathetic to the need of the business that was continuing to trade.
Working closely with the site we undertook a large strip out programme to remove defective and wet building material before dehumidifiers were introduced as well as a thorough sanitisation programme to eradicate bacteria from the flood water.
Once a ‘drying certificate’ was obtained the repair works were able to progress without delay.
The repair works encompassed plastering and decoration to the surfaces previously stripped as well as new commercial grade floor coverings laid on new screed, bathroom fixtures and fire doors amongst a wide range of other aspects.
Works have been meticulously planned around the business’ needs to avoid any costly Business Interruption consideration

Hallam & Co. SafeContractor Accreditation
We are delighted to announce that Hallam & Co. Building Services has successfully achieved SafeContractor accreditation. The SafeContractor scheme is an SSIP (Safety Schemes in Procurement) approved health and safety assessment scheme for construction contractors to demonstrate a high level of responsibility for achieving and maintaining legal health and safety requirements.
